Pick-Me-Up Espresso, Banana and Nut Smoothie
This is, simply put, the BEST way to start your day. High in fibre and protein as well as having a blast of caffeine to perk you up and get you moving in the morning. I absolutely love this smoothie and it's fast becoming my go-to breakfast - especially pre-workout!
Health benefits aside, this actually tastes really good - peanut butter, banana and a hint of coffee make this feel like a real treat, almost like a milkshake! I honestly can't tell you how great this if, you simply *have* to try it for yourself...
Pick-Me-Up Espresso Banana and Nut Smoothie
Serves 2
½ tbsp espresso powder mixed with ½ tbsp boiling water (or 1 shot freshly brewed espresso)
360ml almond milk
50g oats
1 ripe large banana
2 pitted medjool dates
2 tbsp crunchy peanut (or almond) butter
Handful ice cubes
Put all the ingredients except the ice into a blender and whizz until smooth. Add the ice and whizz again until crushed.
