Life-Giving Green Monster Smoothie
For most students up and down the country, this week is Fresher's Week, a week full of partying, drinking, late nights and bad food. Now don't get me wrong, I love a good night out as much as the next person, but I also like feeling my best inside and out. Well, folks, I have the solution! My Green Monster Smoothie is a revitalising blend of all things good for you and the best thing about it is that it tastes AMAZING!
Great for breakfast or even for a mid-afternoon snack, this smoothie works wonders on your bone strength, muscular relaxation, stress, anxiety, digestive transit, immune system, omega-3 levels, basically everything!
It feels a bit unfair to call this a recipe since all you do is blitz everything in a blender/smoothie maker/food processor but I really cannot urge you enough to try this out. Of course, this recipe isn't just for students, it's for anyone who fancies a bit of a detox or simply wouldn't mind some goodness in their bodies!

Serves 2
100ml coconut water
300ml apple juice
1 large banana (or 2 small ones)
Large handful of spinach
Large handful of kale
1/2 tbsp ground chia seeds
1 tbsp milled flaxseed/linseed (available at Aldi, Holland & Barrett and all health food stores)
Put all the ingredients into a blender and blitz until completely smooth. Enjoy!
